The staff and students of Breakspeare School are extremely grateful to the people from ‘Giff Gaff’ who have shown extraordinary kindness and generosity to our school community. In   November a work force from Giff Gaff transformed an area of our school grounds.

Over a period of two days around 70 people from Giff Gaff came to school and worked hard to establish our new ‘horticultural’ area. They dug paths and laid log effect slabs, assembled a new garden shed, installed many raised beds planting them up with shrubs and flowers, painted an existing fence and installed new ones. Giff Gaff provided us with the materials, which are worth approximately £5000. An even bigger and more impressive investment from them was their workforce. Thank you Giff Gaff for your wonderful work!

This new facility will provide us with a tranquil area where students with limited physical mobility have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of rewarding and beneficial gardening activities.

It also provides us with the scope to further develop the skills that we have already established and which resulted in us receiving ‘The Green Apple Eco School Bronze Award’. This was presented to Denise Bond who went to the Houses of Parliament in November to receive it. This is a really prestigious achievement for Breakspeare School and of which we are rightly proud.
