This June and September the pupils of Breakspeare and the school in Aurich, Germany have had very successful exchanges in our UK / German partnership. In a project called 'Take the baton and pass it on' the two schools focused on the Paralympics and healthy lifestyles. Five pupils and three staff travelled to Germany and spent a day on the island of Nordenay off the northern coast (see picture below) and took part in an Opening Ceremony, swimming, kayaking and a visit to a farm. During the visit to the farm they had the opportunity to milk a cow and drink the fresh milk as well as feed the goats and livestock. The pupils developed their independence skills in many new areas and broadened their understanding of a different country as well as improving their communication skills.
